TGIF!!!

Fridays are so nice! Unfortunately once dinner is over you start thinking that you have to go back to work on Monday! Oh well, I'll just enjoy the days off I have!

I have my Saturday all planned. I'll start off by going to Starbucks for a White Chocolate Mocha Latte - Tall! (Maybe I'll go a little crazy and get a Grande!) Maybe I'll sit and read a little. Then I'll go to the library to drop off some books and pick up some new ones. I'm going to do a bit of grocery shopping because I plan to make a Weight Watchers dinner; Mexican Casserole and some Weight Watchers Cherry Cheesecake for dessert! I hope they turn out good! Then, I'll come home and start cleaning the basement! It's been a catch-all since Christmas so now I'm scheduling a clean-up - FINALLY! I hope to get rid of a lot of crap!

Then, of course, I'll go to Woolly Lamb on Sunday!

Speaking of Weight Watchers; I have lost a total of 23.6 pounds! Yeah!!! I am so happy! I went to my Gynecologist on Tuesday and he was so happy for me! He gave me a fist bump! I lost 26 pounds since my visit last year! I was rewarded with a 10%  key chain at my last WW session! I am very close to my "little goal!"

I've been busy knitting and have finished three projects so far. I made another 3 am hat - this time a real pretty grey color. (I think this one may have to go to someone with the initials KEW!) I also finished another set of boot toppers and a Stephen West Purl Ridge Cowl in a very pretty deep purple color.

My new project is a Stephen West scarf. Not much progress on it yet but will have some pictures next week. This will probably be for one of the boys. I would also like to make a matching hat. I'm also going to start another Stephen West project; a scarf/shawl for me. Yes, Stephen West is our designer dejour! Brigitte is now carrying his books at Woolly Lamb Yarn Studio. He is a great designer.

Well, off to knitting now. I hoped to get back to my blog more often this year but it hasn't worked out that way. I'll try to update more often now because I really enjoy reading so many of the blogs I follow The Yarn Harlot, Crazy Mom Quilts to name a few, and get mad when they don't update regularly!

Enjoy the weekend!

A Purple Hat?

A little birdie told me my sister Juanita wanted a hat. Your wish is my command! This beautiful purple hat will be winging its way to you this weekend! (I hope it doesn't take as long as Kathy's books took to get to her!) Hope it keeps you warm and you enjoy!

Not too much going on this week. Had a great time at Woolly Lamb on Sunday for our Super Bowl Party! We had a lot of healthy food and enjoyed the time together knitting, eating and chatting.

I made a delicious minestrone soup for dinner on Sunday using a weight watchers recipe. We all enjoyed it with some Tastefully Simple Beer Bread. We had another helping on Tuesday night. I also made some pumpkin cupcakes but they didn't turn out right. They never rose and were soft inside! I was really mad because I thought they would taste so good and were low calorie! Darn!

Off to watch Chicago Fire and then the news. We're supposed to get some rain/snow/ice tonight. That promises to make rush hour tomorrow morning very unpleasant!

It's A Wonderful Life!

Good Friday evening!
Today was a very, very cold day in Chicago but my heart was warmed because I was at home all day! I took a day off to catch up with life and just relax. I started with a hot cup of Starbucks coffee! Life is good! My list of chores for today was long but suffice to say I accomplished a lot of the things I really needed to do to relax and be comfortable. I was also able to make a nice dinner for all of us, including Joanne, and that makes me happy!

I am also happy to report that I lost 2 lbs this week and have now lost 19.8 lbs! Yeah!!! I have to go shopping to buy some new clothes because mine are all too big and baggy! It was a good feeling to be able to fit into some of my "tight" clothes but now those "tight" clothes are too big. I'm not bragging but I am so happy to be losing weight. My doctor will be very happy when I see him next month. He told me it would be a good idea to lose at least 20 lbs to decrease my risk of diabetes. I am in the "zone" and hope to stay there!

One of the things I wanted to do today was complete the Valentine's Day basket for David and Joanne (mostly for Joanne!) Here is a picture of it. I'm anxious to give it to them (her) but am not sure when to do it. I'll probably try to wait until Monday next week! : ) I also got a beautiful card "To Son and The One He Loves." So cute! It's so much fun to have a female to give things to!

I was excited because David asked me to make a hat for him. He gave me a picture of the color he wanted. Brigitte and I searched Woolly Lamb Yarn Studio  for something that would fit the bill and we found it. The yarn was very soft and exactly the color he wanted. Here is a picture of the hat but the lighting isn't that great. You have to understand that there was only one chance to get this picture. David went from a toddler who would smile if he saw a camera sitting on the table to now an adult who doesn't let his Mother get more than one shot at a pic!

I took a knitting book out of the library today; Son of Stitch 'n Bitch. It's a book of knitting and crocheting patterns for men. David looked through it and picked out a few things he'd like. I also found a few things I thought would make nice gifts. I'm pretty sure I'll be getting this one from Amazon!

Tonight I think I'll start another pair of boot toppers. This time the color will be grey and black. The cables will be in the grey to better define them. They may go to a sweet baby girl I held while she was baptized many years ago! I'm also making a purple hat for someone else! : ) So many projects and so little time!

Well, stay warm and enjoy the weekend. I know I will - Sunday is the Super Bowl party at Woolly Lamb. It has nothing to do with the Super Bowl; just a reason to get together and party!
