Back from the Ozone Layer

Once upon a time I wanted to have a blog so everyone could read about what I've been knitting, scrapping, quilting, or just thinking about crafting. It sounded like a great idea, after all, the Yarn Harlot does it just about every day! Sometimes she doesn't talk about anything other than her family, the garden, or her every day trials and tribulations. If she could do it, why couldn't I?

Well, I found out! I'm a boring person! LOL!

I'm going to try and blog something every day, even if it's just what I'd like to knit, scrap, quilt, or make! I did make some adorable centerpeices (5) for my youngest son's high school graduation party on Saturday. I filled them with candy and some tags with ribbons on them and asked his guests to put some words of advice on each tag. When I scrap the pictures from his party, I'll add the "tags of advice!" I got the idea from my latest Creative Memories Magazine and changed a few of the measurements to make them a little bigger. I also put together his scrapbooks from graduation and prom so everyone could look at them. They were a big hit and I got to show off some of my handiwork!

I finally finished my first pair of socks! I made them for my son so he can be warm when he goes to school in Milwaukee! Maybe I can get a picture of them on this blog!

OK Sharon, I Have A Pic!

I recently completed my first sock and am very pleased with the result. My son was also. When I first started knitting, I took a sock knitting class and failed miserably. I had promised him a pair of hand knitted socks and am finally half way through my promise! I present the first sock...not sure what yarn it is...I do know I can wash and dry it, according the owner of Woolly
Lamb! He is off to Marquette University in the fall so I hope I can made a few more pairs to keep his feet warm up in Wisconsin!
Today I also joined a Summer Sock Making Knitalong. I was checking out http://wendyknits.net/ and read about the Summer of Socks 2008. I found a link to http://zarzuelaknitsandcrochets.com/blog and learned all about this two month knitalong. It begins on June 21 and runs through September 1. You have to register by May 15. Check it out.
